Should women wear bras in bed while sleeping?
This is one of the most nagging questions to have come up in the recent past. But since the views of people differ, the debate is endless and probably would never reach a conclusion.
Although it is said that wearing bras at night prevent sagging of breast, it is little known that while it might be helpful for women with large breasts, women with smaller breasts would not be helped by bras at night.
Women who have breasts larger than 'C & D ' should wear bras at night as it would support the breasts and prevent sagging. If the breasts are smaller than that, bras would anyways not prevent sagging.
But what about the other benefits or maybe even the losses of wearing a bra at night? We take a look at some of the reasons why you should wear/not wear a bra at night.
a. Skin irritation
Most of Bra's are made of Polyster & Elastane ,Some women can feel irritation as they sleep with their bras on. It could cause rashes and reddening of skin under the breasts as the bra rubs against the body. If you experience something of this sort you might just want to avoid wearing it at night.
b. Tight straps
Tight straps can be a big problem while sleeping at night. Tighter the straps, the more restless you would be sleeping at night. So if you do decide to wear a bra at night make sure it is not very tight and does not hug your skin too tightly.
c. Reduced blood circulation
Bras are known to reduce the circulation of blood to the breasts due to the straps and the elastics. It is always advisabe to wear a bra that is made of good material which is soft and does not grip your breasts too tightly. Reduced blood circulation is probably the biggest disadvantage of wearing a bra at night while sleeping. A tight bra can create this problem .
d. Pigmentation near the breasts
Women who wear bras regularly might experience some pigmentation near their breasts. This ihappens due to the elastics that hold up your breasts and women who experience this should avoid wearing bras at night as it is during the night when the pigmentation is likely to increase.
e. Oedema (a condition characterized by an excess of watery fluid collecting in the cavities or tissues of the body)
Oedema, a condition characterized by an excess of watery fluid collecting in the cavities or tissues of the body like in Breast is one of the biggest reasons why some women prefer to sleep without bras. A woman is more likely to get fluid accumulation at night if she wears a bra.
"There is certainly no evidence that sleeping in bras is either helpful or harmful," Guth says. "Sagging or changes in the breast are due to a number of factors:Pregnancy and breastfeeding being the most common causes, along with time and gravity."
Yet, gravity is the reason that Becker, who's been bra-fitting for over 25 years, contends that sleeping in a bra can only be beneficial. "Here's the logic," she tells us. "Either your breasts are being supported for eight hours, or they're not being supported for eight hours. What do you think is better? It's just common sense. If your breasts are being held up, they're going to stay up a lot longer. When you take your bra off at the end of the day, they're a lot higher than when you put it on in the morning." She was explicit about which women should be wearing a bra at night. "It really depends on the size of your breast," Becker explains. "If you're an A-cup or B-cup, no. If your breasts are bigger than a D, Double-D and up, you should.
So its up to you to decide to wear the bra in the bed while sleeping or not . For heavy bust line its advisable to wear ( prevent early sagging ) , But my views are as far as you feel comfort , you can wear .But in prolong it will put negative impact on your skin tissues because breast tissues are so sensitive .
